The Shaka Cola Story

Founder Dave Jeyes is a startup veteran and a huge fan of caffeine. When faced with the choice between sugary cola drinks and artificial sweeteners, he decided to find a better solution.

After spending months in the kitchen trying dozens of different flavors and natural sweeteners, inspiration struck. Dave found the natural sweetener, monkfruit (lan han guo in chinese), to create a zero calorie beverage. After combining monkfruit with tropical hibiscus and pineapple flavors, Shaka Cola was born.

This discovery led Dave to start a soda company that is founded on different principles. Shaka Cola is committed to creating beverages that are better for you, reducing pollution and helping to fight the climate crisis facing our planet.

Healthier Option

We only make soda that is zero calorie and naturally sweetened. And we never use artificial sweeteners.  You can call it diet or regular if you want, but we just call it delicious. 

The monkfruit we use in Shaka Cola is keto friendly because it doesn’t trigger an insulin response. That also means that drinking it won’t make you crave sugar.

Reducing Pollution

Beverage companies are responsible for generating the majority of plastic that pollutes our environment and makes its way into our waterways. These bottles take hundreds of years to decompose and many are never recycled.

Shaka cola only ships soda in aluminum cans, which is a simple but powerful promise. Aluminum is much more likely to be recycled than plastic and decomposes 4 times faster.

Fighting the Climate Crisis

We want our beaches to be clean and our air to be healthy for the next generation. So we pledge to donate 1% of profits to organizations that are on the front lines fighting climate change.
